All High School Seniors and Juniors who have been inducted into NHSDA are encouraged to apply.
Students who have been inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) Secondary Program and are current juniors and seniors in High School are eligible for the NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership and Academic Achievement Award, the highest student dance award in the nation. This year, the National Winner of the award will receive up to a $1000 scholarship and a certificate. There will also be National Finalists and Honorable Mention Recipients. Applicants may be eligible for a state level award if their NDEO State Affiliate chooses to present one. Personal congratulatory messages from NDEO's Executive Director are sent to the school district superintendent, school principal and state program arts coordinators (if contact information is provided by the applicant).
Students should hit the SUBMIT button in the online application no later than February 24, 2017. This then triggers an email to be sent to the Chapter Sponsor requesting that they upload the Recommendation Letter by the award deadline of March 3, 2017. National Winner, Finalists and Honorable Mentions will be notified by email on or after April 10th.
